Here are two of my goals that I want to work on as an Educator throughout the semester. I will ensure I make progress towards my goals by taking the right steps and creating a plan to follow.
Goal 1:
I want to update myself with current events in Science so I can relate that with the material I am teaching in class in order to increase student engagement.
How will I achieve this?
-Read the news 2-3 times a week and pick stories that are relatable to science
-Use journal articles and other platforms to conduct research to further educate myself with the science behind the current events
-Add it into my lesson plan for the following day
-Ask questions to generate engagement for students
Goal 2:
I want to perform self-reflections to see how I am progressing as a teacher and figure out what I need to improve on.
How will I achieve this?
-I will be writing down how my lessons went in a diary which will be completed daily
-I will be taking advice from students from surveys that I give to them complete online through anonymous poll servers
-I will be analyzing test feedback forms which I will collect from students
-At the end of the week, I will compile all the forms and generate my points of improvement and what is working well
-I will conduct research and ask colleagues on how I can address and improve these issues
